The CMV Group is managed by a Board of Directors who bring a mixture of personal and professional experiences and qualifications to the setting of both strategic and policy direction for the company.
The current composition of the CMV Group board is as follows:
David J. Simmons, B.A. (Acc) – Chair
David is the Chair of Codan Limited, and a Director of the Ahrens Group. He was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 2008 and Chair in 2009.
Paul S. Crawford, B. Tech., Mech. Eng.
Paul joined the company in 1982 and is the Managing Director of a number of the CMV Group’s subsidiary companies. He was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 1987 and Joint Managing Director in 1988. In 2016, he was appointed Managing Director.
Michael J. Crawford, B.Ec.
Michael joined the company in 1971 and was the Managing Director of a number of the CMV Group’s subsidiary companies. He was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 1987 and Joint Managing Director in 1988. Michael officially retired from CMV Group in 2016 and became a non-executive Director at that time.
David L. Crawford, Dip. FM (M.O.F.M.C.)
David joined the company in 1978 and was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 1991. He was Managing Director CMV Farms Pty Ltd until his official retirement in 2021. David remains a non-executive Director of the CMV Group.
David I. Skopal, B.A. (Acc), FCPA, FCIS
David joined the company in 1984 and was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 1997. He was CMV Group Company Secretary from 1991 until his official retirement in 2022. David remains a non-executive Director.
Anthony J. Casey, MBA, B.A. (Acc), CPA
Anthony joined the company in June 2013 and is the Director – Group Operations. Prior to joining CMV Group, he worked for Mitsubishi Motors Aust Ltd with senior roles across sales, finance, marketing and logistics. He was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 2016.
Stephen M. Palyga, LL.B.
Steve is a director of the Leasecorp Group, Principal Finance Pty Ltd, Guidera O’Connor Pty Ltd, and Enterprise Development Inc, a not-for-profit entity which promotes entrepreneurship through the respected Enterprise Workshop program. He was appointed a Director of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd in 2012.
Heidi Crawford, LL.B., B.Int.St., Grad. Dip. App. Corp. Gov., GAICD
Heidi joined the company in 2017 in an in-house legal role. In 2023 she was appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary of Commercial Motor Vehicles Pty Ltd and she also holds directorships of each of the CMV Group’s subsidiary companies. Heidi is also a director of not-for-profit SA organisation, The Village Co.
Lauren Bahr, LL.B./LP (Hons), B.Int.St., GAICD
Lauren joined the company in 2018 and holds the role of In-house Legal Counsel. She is currently the Minutes Secretary for the Board.
