CMV SAFE

Safety is Our Number One Value

At CMV Group, safety is our number one value. It guides the way we work, the decisions we make and the care we show for our people, customers and communities.

Across our dealerships, workshops, farms, warehouses, offices and customer-facing teams, we are committed to creating safer workplaces and supporting a culture where everyone has a role to play.

For CMV Group, safety is about protecting people. It means helping every employee return home safely and recognising the families, friends, teammates and communities connected to them.

Our safety message, This is What Safety Protects, reflects why safety matters, while Take 5 for Safety provides a practical framework for safer decision-making before work begins.

This is What Safety Protects

This is What Safety Protects is CMV Group’s safety message and a clear expression of what we stand for as a business.

It reminds us that behind every safe decision is something worth protecting.

For each person, safety protects something different: family, friends, teammates, customers, future plans, personal goals or simply the ability to return home safely at the end of the day.

Every time a risk is identified, a process is followed, a concern is raised or someone looks out for a colleague, an important step is taken to protect what matters most.

When safety becomes personal, it becomes part of the choices we make and the actions we take every day.

Because safety does not only protect people at work. It helps protect everything beyond it.

Turning Safety Into Everyday Action

Understanding why safety matters is important. Taking practical steps to manage risk is what helps keep people safe.

That is why CMV Group uses Take 5 for Safety, a simple framework that helps our people pause, assess the task ahead and make safer decisions before work begins.

Together, This is What Safety Protects and Take 5 for Safety connect the reason safety matters with the practical actions that help protect people every day.

Take 5 for Safety

Take 5 for Safety is CMV Group’s practical safety framework for identifying hazards, managing risks and supporting safer decision-making before a task begins.

It encourages employees to stop, assess the situation and ensure appropriate controls are in place before proceeding with work.

The framework is built around five simple steps:

1. Pause

Pause, look and walk around the task. Conditions can change quickly, and taking a moment to assess your surroundings can help identify potential hazards.

2. Think

Think about the task ahead. Ensure there is a clear plan, the correct procedure is understood and any risks have been considered.

3. Identify

Identify existing hazards or risks that may be created by the task.

4. Control

Put appropriate controls in place. Ensure the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and communicate risks that could affect others.

5. Proceed

Only proceed when risks have been assessed and appropriately controlled. If conditions become unsafe, stop immediately and reassess.

By taking five minutes to stop and think before work begins, we can help prevent incidents, reduce workplace risk and support safer outcomes for everyone.

Protecting What Matters Most

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. At CMV Group, we believe every person has the right to work safely and return home safely, every day.

By looking out for one another, speaking up when something is not right and making safe decisions, we strengthen our safety culture and help protect the people and moments that matter most.

This is What Safety Protects.

SITEPASS: CMV Contractor Management

Having issues? Contact the Sitepass helpdesk:

Further information about the system is available by searching the Sitepass knowledgebase.

For existing contractors who have had their accounts migrated from the previous version of Sitepass, please review the Sitepass migration FAQs before contacting the helpdesk.

Why do we have CMV Group Contractor Management?
Most contractor staff entering and working within our business premises are required to have successfully completed the CMV Group Contractor Online Induction - this requirement is dependent on the work that they are performing. Contractor staff reporting to a site without being appropriately registered in SitePass may be asked to leave, or complete the process prior to starting work. We believe that the content of this program will play an important role in raising the awareness of WHS and from this, reducing the potential for injury to everyone who comes onto one of our sites.
