Dayforce update - 26.04.2024

Please watch the short video from Director of Group Operations, Anthony Casey, regarding the roll out of Dayforce from Friday, April 26.

If you have any questions, please speak to your manager or Change Champion.

We thank you again for assisting us in helping to make the transition to Dayforce as smooth as possible.

Dayforce timeline

Friday, April 26
Managers will enrol employees into wall clocks. Enrolment into the wall clocks will not affect employees' ability to clock in or clock out.

Monday, April 29
Dayforce is live!

All award-covered employees who will normally clock in and clock out using wall clocks will begin clocking on the clocks.

For employees whose normal process will be to clock in and out from their desk, please manually capture in/out times on April 29 and April 30, and let managers know what they are. Managers will then manually enter these times into the Dayforce timesheets.

In some of our smaller sites, the use of web clocks will also begin on Monday, April 29.

Managers and Change Champions will be able to log into Dayforce. They will receive an email with information on how to download the Dayforce app and log in. They will need to assist with checking to ensure data is accurate.

Tuesday, April 30
All employees will be able to log into Dayforce. They will receive an email with information on how to download the Dayforce app and log in. Once logged in, employees are asked to check that their personal details are correct and then upload a profile photo.

All leave needs to be applied for via Dayforce from this date. Please note leave balances will not show in Dayforce until Monday, May 6. Please contact Payroll if you have any questions.

Introducing Dayforce

We're excited to let you know that the CMV Group will soon be launching one of our biggest people projects in the company's history, when we introduce Dayforce to you all. It's our biggest single investment in a system aimed predominantly at lifting the employee experience.

As an employee, Dayforce will be your one-stop shop to:

  • View and update your personal details, emergency contacts, bank account details and more.
  • View your payslips, leave balances and apply for time away from work.
  • View additional pay information such as your award classification, payrate, rosters, timesheets and clocking records.
  • View additional employment information such as your training history, licenses and accreditations, performance reviews and development plans.
  • View vacant jobs and apply for internal roles.

There will also be an all-new approach to performance reviews all in the one system, allowing for a more collaborative process.

… and all from one intuitive and easy-to-use mobile app.

FAQs

But what is Dayforce?

At the CMV Group, we have over 1,900 employees that are at the very heart of what we do every day. For each and every one of those individuals, there are a broad range of Payroll, People and Culture (P&C), and management functions that occur during their time with us; recruitment and onboarding, timesheets, payslips, training, performance reviews and development plans, leave applications and approvals… to name just a few! Dayforce is a powerful new system that allows us to streamline and integrate many of these processes, while also giving employees more access to their information and resources about their employment.

Why do we need a new system?

While our existing Preceda systems have served us well to date, it has come time to upgrade to ensure that we can best integrate these processes into the future, and provide employees and managers with a more informative, powerful and accessible tool as the company continues to grow. Dayforce will be a vital instrument in lifting the quality of our P&C and Payroll systems, to a point where they underpin a much better employee experience. As an employee, you will have far greater visibility and control over the data that relates to you, in terms of both your personal and employment information. Managers will also have a powerful tool at their fingertips that will streamline and standardise how they manage their teams.

We’re replacing manual and paper processes with contemporary online workflows, which will make tasks for employees, managers, and our P&C and Payroll teams more efficient. Dayforce will also streamline how new employees join our company, from the point of submitting an application online, through to employment contracts, onboarding and engagement, all guided by workflows and reminders.

I’m a manager. Are there any additional features that will apply to me?

Absolutely. As a manager, Dayforce will:

  • Provide you with visibility across your team, where you can view personal, performance and compliance information.
  • Notify you when your attention and action is required, both on your desktop and through the app.
  • Show you upcoming compliance expiries for your team, such as licences, qualifications etc.
  • Help you to make more informed people decisions by showing you a dashboard of real time data about your team.
  • Reduce the majority of our paper forms with workflows, quickening approval processes.
  • Help you to engage in more high value managerial and leadership work by using automated workflows and increasing efficiencies.

When is it happening?

The launch of Dayforce will take place at the end of April this year, and training will take place in the lead up to ensure everyone is familiar with the processes. There will also be other communications about the launch of Dayforce in the lead up, with more information about its features, helpful tools, and action items for you.

… Action items? What do I have to do?

When the time is right, we will need everyone to download the Dayforce app and set themselves up. All award-covered employees will also need to start clocking in and out daily, either on a desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile app or one of the new time clocks, which you may have noticed at your location already. You don’t need to do this yet, but rest assured that it’s straight forward and shouldn’t take long when you do. There will also be additional resources to help you at this time. Please note that employees who are not award-covered will not need to clock in and out.

The other thing we ask is that you be open to and embrace the changes that are coming. We understand that change can take some getting used to, however we are confident that the improvements will be far-reaching, and it won’t be long before it’s hard to imagine a time before Dayforce!

I’m not so good at getting used to new systems, who can help me?

While there will be some changes in the way we do both Payroll and P&C processes, you will find that they’re intuitive and that there is nothing to be concerned about. In addition to training in the lead up, there will also be resources on the intranet to help you, such as FAQs and how-to videos. There will also be a Dayforce ‘Champion’ nominated at each CMV Group business as your go-to person for additional assistance.

I already have a question about Dayforce. Who can I speak to in the meantime?

Until we introduce you to the Dayforce Champion at your location, you can direct any Dayforce queries to dayforce@cmv.com.au.
